Ethno Day

 

Vojvodina Center for Human Rights is implementing the project "Ethno Day", which is part of the Government of Autonomous Province of Vojvodina project "Affirmation of Multiculturalism and Tolerance in Vojvodina", carried by the the Provincial Secretariat for education, administration and ethnic communities.

The main goal of the project is to strengthen inter-ethnic trust and tolerance among students in higher grades of primary schools through the introduction of a national community to another (the Serbs present Hungarian culture, the Hungarians Slovakian culture, The Slovaks Ruthenian...)

The plan included about 9000 students from 85 primary schools in Vojvodina, and the students of seventh and eighth grades had the opportunity, through educational and fun program to present Hungarian, Slovakian, Romanian, Ruthenian, Bunjevac, German, Romany, Ukrainian, Croatian and Serbian Ethno Day .

Modern audio-video media were used for the project activities, as well as traditional costumes, artifacts from the old art, photographs, reproductions of artworks, maps and refreshments for the above mentioned characteristic of the national cuisine.

From the beginning of 2007.  to December 2011. the project was implemented in seven phases.

 

Phase I

The period from February to May 2007.


Phase II

The period from December 2007. to June 2008.

The period from September to December 2008.


Phase IV

The period from January to June 2009.

Phase V

The period from September 2009. to March 2010.

Phase VI

The period from October 2010. to March 2011.

"Deca su pokazala veliko interesovanje za ovakav vid rada. Bilo im je zanimljivo i zahvaljujući "Etno danu" imali su priliku da nauče nešto novo i da to s ponosom pokažu. Ova manifestacija je bila jedno veliko iskustvo ne samo za decu već i za mene. Bila sam veoma prijatno iznenađena jer su i učenici koji imaju slab uspeh, pokazali veliko interesovanje za Etno dan."
